Doesn’t work—produces gray screen no sound

Doesn’t work—produces gray screen with no sound. I tried converting some .wmv files that I know work, but this app goes from 1%(for about 4 mins) to 100% and outputs a gray mess. OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
